Whether you’re a beginner, returning to art after time away, or simply looking for a softer creative experience, this 3 hour open studio freestyle exploration session is not a traditional guided workshop. It is for those who want to explore without pressure... and with a little music to set the vibes!

Through layered, experimental printmaking practice, Lorenzo explores the fragile terrain
of memory, self-discovery, and human connection. Combining photogravure, monotype,
and chine-collé techniques, she weaves together personal photographic archives,
handwritten diaries, and fragments of writing to create works that blur the line between
image and text, presence and absence, memory and forgetting.

Kids Freestyle Oil Pastels | Ages: 5 +
Children will create their own abstract oil pastel artwork, exploring shapes, colors, blending, and smudging techniques through open-ended creative expression. Adults will create a still-life oil pastel drawing inspired by a display of fruits and flowers arranged at the center of the table. Participants will have the opportunity to explore light, shadow, color layering, and blending techniques at their own pace. A variety of materials will be provided to encourage experimentation and individual artistic expression.

Our second open studio session starts on Sunday morning , June 14th, 2026!
An open studio experience to slow down, explore, and paint freely. This Spring / Summer, join us for our ongoing exploration series during open studio hours at 9S. This is a freestyle session designed for ease, creativity, and exploration. Every month offers an opportunity to explore different painting mediums, materials, and techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No experience is needed and there’s no pressure to keep up or create something “perfect". All ages are welcome. (Younger children must be supervised).

This Open Studio session is 3 hours long. You must register in advance to participate. If we are not at capacity, we will accept walk-ins. Please be sure to arrive within the 3 hour window to allow enough time to explore and create!

Talavera Tile Shop – Hand-Painted House Numbers Workshop
Guided by Fredy Granillo
Create a one-of-a-kind set of house numbers inspired by traditional Talavera tile art, led by exhibiting artist Fredy Granillo. In this hands-on workshop, participants will paint their own custom house numbers on authentic Talavera-style tiles, perfect for adding character and color to their home.
How it works:
•Each participant signs up and submits their house number in advance (up to 4 numbers).
•Fredy will prepare everything ahead of time making, sizing, and cutting the tiles specifically for your numbers.
•During the workshop, you’ll hand-paint your numbers using classic Talavera patterns and colors, with guidance and inspiration provided.
•After the workshop, Fredy will fire the tiles, ensuring a durable, glossy finish ready for outdoor display.
No prior painting or tile experience is necessary, just come ready to create. You’ll leave with a personalized, handcrafted set of Talavera-style house numbers that reflect your style and celebrate traditional craftsmanship.

Get ready for a scary good time at our Spooky Flower Pot Painting Workshop, where creativity blends in creepy colors and Halloween fun!
Chroma Pop is known for creating custom designs on Terracotta flower pots, handcrafted scented candles and more. Each made to order, uniquely designed to stand out as gifts or eye-catching centerpieces for weddings and special occasions.
In this 2 hour event, you'll be guided through the entire design process by artist Jennifer Hartfield, owner of Chroma Pop and Co- owner of 9S Studios. This step by step process is easy, fun, and comprehensive- allowing for a stress- free painting experience. The workshop will be held at 9S Studios, an intimate art gallery and studio space where creativity thrives. This Halloween, bring the whole family and costumize a BOO-tiful Flower!
Paint your own haunted masterpiece! Choose from frightfully fun designs like ghosts, black cats, jack-o’-lanterns, and more to decorate your very own flower pot with a Chroma Pop twist! There's spooky fun for every skill level.
